We interrupt this makeover...

to bring you CRAPPY weather!!!
The temperature has been in the mid to upper 70's the past few days with tons of humidity. I can't paint or do the glazing with the humidity so high. Some storms blew in this afternoon and brought in a cold front, so hopefully I'll be able to get my project completed by the weekend so hang in there.

Here are some before pictures...

The 'orange' wall is what I've always hated. I tried for a terracotta color but was too lazy to prime and do more than one coat. I've gotten used to it, but never loved it. I jokingly called it "ADD on the walls!"

Check out the cabinets and walls in the background.

I thought I had more pictures of my kitchen, but I can't find them. So those of you who have been to the house, will just have to remember them from before.

Hopefully, I'll have the completed look up here soon!

Not just an update...

I realize that my blog posts have been less than stellar lately. Sorry about that. I was reading a friends blog today and she posted all this great love stuff about her hubby and it dawned on me that it has been awhile since I've done anything super-wonderful for my husband... and since he's an occasional reader of my rantings and ravings, I figured I'd let the world know what a FANTASTIC husband he is.
I don't have a set number of things that I'm gonna list, but I'll number them anyway.

1. He not only tolerates me, but he puts up with me and loves me anyway! (now THAT is a good man!)

2. He's totally willing to jump in and do something for anyone in need.

3. He's not afraid and doesn't complain about changing diapers.

4. He let's me be me and doesn't try to change me.

5. He tells me that he loves me everytime we are on the phone. Even if its 20 times in one day!

6. He hugs me, even if I think I'm 'busy'. There is ALWAYS time for hugs.

7. He makes me laugh... even at stupid things.

8. He patiently teaches me, even when I am not patient.

9. He spoils me.

10. He takes care of me when I don't feel well.

11. He loves me with a tender heart.

I've got to end this post now b/c Sydney is stirring, but I thought it was interesting that I had to stop at #11 and next month we will be celebrating our 11 yr wedding anniversary!

C, I love you more than anything!!!!

finally, an update!

Being without a vehicle has really cramped my lifestyle. Thankfully, we got a rental on Friday. After what seemed like a billion phone calls between me and the other drivers insurance company, Thursday they accepted fault for the accident, had my car picked up for its repairs and assigned me a rental car. However, of course they want to keep as much of their money as possible so they only approved for a midsize car, well after having a pt cruiser for the weekend, I have a call into the insurance co again, they are going to have to upgade us. The car is just too small for a rear facing carseat in the back and anyone over 5'3" in the front. Plus the back tailgate doesn't go up unless you unlock it with the key and use your other hand to lift it. With an infant seat, a baby bag, a pocketbook and the occasional grocery bag, I don't always have an extra hand to open the gate with. Not surprisingly, I haven't heard back from them yet. The Friday after the accident, I had what we believe to have been an episode of vertigo; dizzy, room-spinning, vomiting... the whole works. I called my dr, but they referred me to another facility b/c they don't do car wreck stuff. (its a long story, I just don't feel like typing it all out) The ins co wants dr 'stuff' so that after 'therapy' (either meds or 'treatments') they can offer me a settlement. I totally wasn't expecting anything money from this, I'm really surprised actually, but I'm not gonna tell them 'oh, thanks, but I don't need any money from you!' Lovey still hasn't exhibited any signs of even having been in the accident, but I'm starting to wonder now if I should just take her in just so that its on paper somewhere that we went to a dr at least.

Lovey is still doing amazingly well. She's on such a great sleep schedule that totally fits in this house! She's discovered her voice, she babbles and squeals up a storm. She has just begun to realize that she has control over those 'things' (her feet) at the end of the carseat. She also has control over "Eddie", "Eddie" is an elephant that dangles from the handle of her carrier. When pulled down, he vibrates back up and she loves him! We used to have a lamb that did that and as it vibrated back up, it would also say baaaa; but somehow, somewhere he got lost. I think it was on our trip to NY. and yes, I'm way bummed about that.

On a totally random note: Here are a few things to make you say, "yeah, why is that????" (got this off the Internet, but I had to clean it up a bit)

~ People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where is yours?

~ When people say 'Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too'. You bet! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

~ When people say 'it's always the last place you look'. Of course it is. Why in the world would you keep looking after you've found it?

~ People who ask 'Can I ask you a question?'.... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine?

~ When 'they' say something is 'new and improved!'. Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

Finally, this one is SO TRUE!!!
~ When people say 'life is short'. What??? Life is the longest thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

Have a great day!

2008 should be a banner year!

First of all, Sydney is fine. Second, I'm sore, but ok overall.
Today we had a fender bender.
As I was traveling west in the left lane, another woman also traveling west but in the center lane decided to make a left turn... right into my car. Like I said, there weren't any injuries, but all my muscles are really sore now. I guess I really tensed up as it was happening. I filed my claim with her insurance company and mine. Now I'm just waiting to hear what they think. The adjuster should be here sometime tomorrow to look at my car. In my opinion, the damage on my car shows that she turned into me. I'm just hoping the insurance folks agree. Tell me, what do you think?
oh and no comments about the filthy car; the road leading to our development is under a major rehaul and they have been putting this clay like dirt down and then wetting it pretty much every other day. If you know me at all, you know that I am totally anal about my car, so having this dirt on here is just KILLING me!!!!

K, I'm going to take a motrin and try to relax for a bit!
