Kids are seriously fun.

So we all know that I am a kid person. I started school to become a teacher, I was a nanny for a billion years, I have been babysitting since the day I didn't need a babysitter myself, I have taught in more Sunday School rooms than I can count.
Oh yeah, and I have one of my own.
While I may be a 'kid' person, I have never claimed to be a baby person. I have no interest in babies. They are cute and a bit cuddly; but they are also helpless and have no means of communication other than crying. and OH MY WORD do I HATE crying. I hate doing it and I hate hearing it.
I have been anxiously waiting for The Girl to no longer be a baby. People would say oh don't rush it, you'll miss the baby stage, you don't really mean that.
Whatever. I know how I feel.
While The Girl isn't really a toddler yet, she isn't so much the baby anymore. Currently she is still crawling, and yes, I don't like it b/c of the previously mentioned reason, but I do think its adorable. Her fat little legs squeak on the wood floor as she goes by. If she sees the gate open, she makes a beeline for it as quickly as she possibly can. The poor girl even has rug burn on her knees.
We haven't really let her crawl around upstairs b/c we don't have a gate installed at the top of the stairs yet. (It's an awkward situation between the wall and a section of railing up there, we've got to find just the right kind of gate that will fit, and yet won't cost us a fortune. Of course I'm almost at the point that for her safety, I'm willing to pay a fortune.) The other day C had The Girl in her room and I was down the hall in the office... he was letting her crawl, and she, seeing an open doorway went for it, got to the doorway, looked over her shoulder at her Daddy, smiled, shrieked and took off down the hallway, C followed her and said "The Girl" she totally knew she was 'caught', shrieked/laughed and went faster down the hallway away from him. He picked her up, brought her back to her room and told me to look in the hallway... soon I saw her little hands come to her doorway, saw just the top and back of her head as she looked back at her Daddy, then she made her move and busted down the hallway. C came out of the room and called her name again and she looked back over her shoulder and shrieked/laughed again. This has totally become a game to her now. At this point, she still hasn't seen me at the end of the hallway. C picked her up and returned her back to her room and the sequence continued again. This time, when she had gotten into the hallway a few feet, she looked up, and saw me. She shrieked and got hysterical laughing. She laughed so hard she flopped onto her belly. When she looked back up at me I promise you there were tears in her eyes from laughing so hard.
Seriously, how adorable is that???? I wish I had gotten it on video.

OH... Wanna see some TEETH???? She has 8 that are in, and she's working on another top one.

I gave her a few tastes of my fudge pop tonight, oh my word, her reaction was SO FUNNY!!!

Thank you

for your help in looking for the saxopone, unfortunately I was looking for that exact one, but it has been brought to my attention that it may have been a victim of the recalls for lead poisoning. WHOOPS!!!!

And yes, the CHICKEN POOP was (is!) for YOUR LIPS!!!!!!

Shameless request

In case you haven't heard, The Girl is turning ONE soon. The girl's daddy (for the record it is 'C') plays the saxophone. Years ago, I once bought the little boy that I was a Nanny for a toy saxophone. It looked a lot like the one in this picture:

I want one for The Girl. Sadly, the www is failing me. Or I'm just not that good with the googling. Can somebody help a desparate mommy out??? please? I'll pay you back. I totally promise and that one is not just hot air.

Ok, this crawling phase...

really needs to be outgrown. quickly. Not for the reason that you may think either. Oh, yes, it is more work for me to have to tail after her. Currently, I think that is cute, I loved that she finally made it over the little metal piece by the baby/dog gate, it's adorable to just watch her navigate her way around, its precious when she finds something new to investigate. However, the reason that I don't like the crawling is because she is on THE FLOOR! For those of you who know me in real life, you know that I am a fanatic when it comes to germs. Well, with The Girl on the floor all the time, she is so close to all the germs. It's where people walk for crying out loud! YUCK! We all bring in the nastiest stuff on our shoes, b/c we walk outside in them, where the animals do their thing, the place where you can redeposit the contents of your stomach, (sorry TGIFriday's I was pregnant and didn't know) and a plethora of other disgusting things can take place on the ground/floor.
Plus The Girl is fond of taking her nuk (pacifier) out and putting it wherever she pleases and sometimes gets it back into her mouth before I or anyone else can get to her. SO FAR she hasn't been putting too many foreign objects in her mouth, but I am aware that those days are coming, and its making me sick. Plus her hands are ALL OVER the floor and they go in her mouth and eyes and on ME! YUCK YUCK YUCK!!!! She really needs to start walking. I'm just going crazy here.

Why I DON'T blog.... much.... anymore.

A) Because I'm a SAHM (stay at home mom) with nothing really exciting going on, unless you want to hear about my trips to Target, or perhaps the scrapbook store. I did actually scrap the other day, maybe I'll take pics of that and post them for you. MAYBE. Don't hold your breath. I've made promises on here before, and if you are still holding your breath waiting for them to happen, well you are probably dead by now. So sorry.

B) I have a ten month old dd (darling daughter) and 2 fur babies (doggies).

C) I try to use every moment that I can to clean something, whether it be me, laundry, or the house.

D) I'm actually enjoying time outside (I know in the TX heat no less!!!) playing tennis, (real tennis not just on the wii) with C and our friends.

E) I don't want to whine on here anymore. I've decided its time to be positive and to surround myself with positive things.

F) Time on the Internet leads to me wanting to shop. We are still doing the total money makeover and well, shopping on ebay is just not in the budget. :(
*side note: LOVING the Financial Peace University classes!!! We were just at our 7th class last night and I'm still excited about it. MAN! That man has A LOT of information in his head!!! Insurance?!?!?! WHO KNEW?????

G) The girl is CRAWLING. Seriously crawling. She did a few 'steps' about a week ago, would try it again every now and again, then decided last night that she really wants to crawl. She was ALL OVER THE PLACE. It was fun watching her explore her boundaries. She thinks its funny to throw cds. It's not. We'll have to do something about those.

H) Contrary to this post, I don't have much to say. I feel kinda like I'm just living life. Every day is the same with just a different date on it. No biggie. I'm sure that will change. It's nice to not be running around like crazy for now. I'm sure I'll get really bored soon. ;)

I) Planning The Girl's 1st birthday party already. Can you believe it???? In 38 days she will be 1 year old. I'm still dealing with the shock of being pregnant. There is no way I have an almost 1 year old!!! (By the way, the theme is rubber duckie and of course there will be pictures!)

J) Totally looking forward to our first real family vacation this September. We are not going to visit family or friends, we are simply going to RELAX, HAVE FUN, and play on the beach. Oh and hopefully there won't be a hurricane. ;-)

K) That about sums up what you’ve been missing! Again, I’LL TRY to get those pix taken of the pages that I did... :-)

(grrrrr... totally bummed! I did this post in word and used a cool font and had colors and everything, but blogger doesn't like it. POOP on blogger!)
