So I'm back at my regular job watching 3 kids, 2 of whom are boys!
Memorial day weekend was not very exciting. I'm glad though that we have set aside a few days out of our year to honor our soldiers, alive, dead, retired, whatever. It's a HUGE sacrifice to be in the military and I'm so thankful that in the midst of all the anti war marches that we take at least just a moment to remember. Speaking of anti-war marches, how rediculous can some people be. I mean really does anyone really WANT a war??? Oh well. I really don't want to talk politics on my blog.
This weekend, C and I just hung out at the house. We were supposed to have some people over on Friday night but we had to cancel b/c I was sick. I was quite bummed about that! Anyway, nothing really new to report. I am beginning to count down the days until our vacation (25, by the way)! It was nice to just spend time together, ya know!? We've been so busy that just sitting on the couch to watch a movie was 'quality time'.
It's getting hot AND humid here in TX and I don't like it one bit! and we so need some rain down here! We found a place that rents jetskis and boats for the lake so we may do that sometime. How cool would THAT be???
Oh well, I won't ramble on and bore you anymore.

Well, my weekend didn't start off so great but it can only get better, right? It started on Thursday night, I thought I was having an allergy attack but wound up waking up on Friday feeling like I had the flu. I stayed on the couch ALL day. We were supposed to have a bunch of people over on Fri night, but we cancelled b/c I was sick. Then I got a migraine. I took an Amerge and a tylenol pm and slept from 12midnight until almost 11 this morning!!!! WHOOO HOOO I feel GREAT now! A little stuffed up still but I don't ache anymore and no fever.
Today, C and I have some errands to run and then we are going to a friends house. Tomorrow, we are teaching the kids Power Hour at church and then going to a cookout. Monday we are just hanging out at the house (so far, nothing else has come up... yet) It's kinda hot here and humid so that makes it yucky, however it is VERY windy so that feels good. I really don't have anything to report, I just don't want my blog to get 'stale'. ;) I did finish the layout I was working on on Thursday and I'm actually quite happy with it. So, I feel much better about that! Oh well, have a great 3 day-er and I'll get back w/ you at the beginning of the week.

Quick question for any other bloggers that might be reading this... I've noticed on other blogs that people get 'tagged' for various question type games... how does one know if they've been tagged? Do you send an email or is it that you find out by chance b/c you read it on their blog???? I wanna be tagged!!!!!!!!!

A day late and a dollar short.

I'm telling you right now that this is not going to be a happy go lucky blog post!
I hate that "A day late and a dollar short" seems to be my motto in life right now. Once again, C and I are having a money crunch, me being off from work for 3 weeks has really hit hard and well things aren't looking to good. Going to my mailbox used to be fun, I was looking for letters from home or from friends or RAKs from my SJ friends... but now it seems that every trip to the mailbox brings a bill or SEVEN! Can someone please buy my house in IL so that life won't be so hard for us???? C didn't sleep again last night, he's getting so stressed, he left for work at 7:30am.... that's like an hour earlier than he normally leaves. I'm starting to have nightmares about the house... it's just crazy and has absolutely consumed my every thought. I've been pleading w/ God to do something and if He decides not to sell the house, then I've pleaded w/ him to help me deal w/ this pressure... but so far NOTHING! I seriously don't know what else to do.
I've gotta get off that topic before I cry... I thought putting it down into words would make it easier but it's not so....

I have a lo to do for an album that we are making for Monique regarding the event she organized for April. I was supposed to have mailed it earlier this week.... but of course I didn't do that so today I've gotta put the finishing touches on it and send it out of here by express mail. Which is just dandy since we all know that I have a ton of spare cash hanging around! OY!!!!

Ok my puppy is just crazy. I just spent the last 8 minutes chasing her around the house b/c somehow she got a hold of C's razor!!! How crazy is that!?

Well, I'm going to finish that lo but if anything pops into my head I'll be sure to let you know!

Pet Peeve VENT!

So today I'm driving to work and this woman in front of me in the far left lane is only doing the speed limit (65) and yes, I wanted her to go faster or move out of my way! and apparently cleaning out her car while driving b/c she opened her window and began to just throw her garbage out! I'm not talking a simple lollipop stick... she had pieces of paper, wrappers, and a CUP! Hello?!?!?! We are driving on the HIGHWAY and I am RIGHT behind you! Do you want to start an accident!??? And people wonder where road rage comes from! This highway is 4 lanes (8 total) wide, we are all cruising along no slower than 65mph, she decides she wants to change lanes; so with out using her turn signal this chick glides across ALL FOUR lanes of traffic!! and no she did not get off at the exit, just decided I've had enough of the left lane now I wanna be in the right lane. MANY people had to swerve, slam on breaks, change lanes, adjust their driving to accomodate this VERY thoughtless person! GRRRR! I'm still ticked about it!

I think the TX heat has started. Funny thing is that I never thought I'd stand outside in 94 degree (F) heat and say 'it's really not that bad out". It must be that it's so dry here, guess that'll change soon, cause I heard on the radio that some humidity was going to creep in over the next couple of days.

I can't believe it!

I spent 5 H O U R S cleaning up the office on Sat. C had some work that he needed to do for work (thankfully from home) so he was busy. I spent the whole time actually working on the room. Not getting distracted and goofing off and spending time on other things (well I did take a few breaks to check out SJ, but I didn't spend a whole lot of time there) I went through every piece of paper that was on the desk and in files and in totes and threw out what we didn't need anymore and organized what was left. I also moved a few pieces of furniture around. I emptied 3 rubbermaid totes and 4 boxes. The unfortunate part is that I didn't get to finish organizing my scrap space. I had to stop and get ready for a meeting at church on Sat night... then I didn't get back in there and Sundays are just WAY TOO busy for cleaning! I have a pretty busy week this week, and we are having a bunch of people over on Friday night, so I may not get back in there before Sat again. I was hoping to have pics for you but I haven't set my camera and printer doc back up since it was used in my classroom the Wed before Mothers day. It'll happen you just need to be patient.

Speaking of Mothers day. I HATE it!!! I totally skipped morning service and C said it was good that I did, b/c I would have cried the whole time. I went to the evening service and it was fine, some people asked where I was and I told them and they totally understood, or at least they acted like it. I didn't feel like I was judged at all so that was good.

Oh I finally got a bday card from my dad 2 weeks late AND he spelled my name wrong!!!!!! What the HECK is up w/ that???? Oh well, I got $25 bucks out of it! I'll have to call and send a thank you or I'll be the worst daughter in the world and he WILL call and let me know that too!

I'm so bummed that we can't go to StL this weekend. I was really looking forward to it! I don't know when we will be able to get up there. C is using all of his vacation days for when we go to NY and MASS in June! (I SO can't wait! I NEED this vacation! I just want to relax the whole time!)

Ok, so here's the color combo....

I think I'm going to stick w/ this combo (at least for now anyway, I love to change stuff up)
Now we need to work on adding in 'fun' stuff to the blog, ie: pics, clocks, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

For my bday last week, C got me a cleaning service, one that will show up every other week. I'm very happy to have the help. I hate doing the floors in this house. I just wish they could fold and put away laundry too! lol C doesn't help so somebody has to do it. I figure it will eleviate a lot of stress in our home. Plus these ladies will do all the nitty gritty stuff that I only get around to doing every couple of months... like the baseboards, and windows, and all the dusting.... it will be good I'm sure. I'm just nervous about the $$$ part. C says he's got it all worked out, so I'm just gonna trust him on that. Today is their first day, and I'm nervous and excited at the same time.

OK now to ramble on about my sibling like I promised, cause I know you were just waiting w/ baited breath! I have one older brother, B. He is 5 yrs older than me. He is married w/ 2 kids. H e still lives on Long Island and I don't get to see him as much as I'd like. He is currently having marriage problems and I'm praying that they can work things out, for many reasons. He LOVES to play golf and poker. (hence, the marriage problems) When we were kids we fought like cats and dogs! We would hit and yell and scream (well, I would scream). We hardly ever got along. When I was in HS things started to chage. He was living in our grandmothers house right next to our house and at the time he was going through a rough patch in his life. I would hang out over there and we would watch movies and go to Friendlys for ice cream. I remember having some great conversations w/ him at this point in our lives. Then I went out of state to college and we only talked when I was in town. Again, we were growing up and maturing so our relationship only got better. Now, as adults, we can talk on the phone for hours at a time. I love my brother and would do anything for him. He is funny, smart, and cool. He's a teacher, so he has the summers off and I'm trying to get him to come down here for at least a week this year. Who knows, maybe w/ all the strife at home (actually he moved out, but...) he will need to get away for a while. but I'm not dumb, I know my brother... he ain't coming to visit me in TX!

sorry folks, but all good things must come to an end. (and bad things too) Not that this is 'bad', it's just not how it's gonna stay. And yes, I am talking about the look of my blog. This, my friends, is what happens when you let your colored-blind DH choose the background color for your blog. I really couldn't complain about it b/c he was so nice about doing it, but I really can't let it stay this way either. So tonight, after dark, b/c we have some outside things that need to get done. FINALLY, dh and I have an evening to catch up on LIFE! We have been so buys for the last well, it's been about 6 weeks now. I think that I cooked on a Friday night two weeks ago tomorrow. Seriously, we have been just THAT busy. Well, tonight :gasp: keep your fingers crossed, we don't have anything on the schedule. C will come home and cut the grass and make sure there isn't any standing water around (we are trying to NOT breed mosquitoes) and then I'm going to ask him to do the blog thing with me. I know I keep making all these 'blog' promises and then I go and break them, but really this time (as far as I know) there shouldn't be anything stopping us from getting this done.

Well, I got a year older on Monday and I'm not too happy about it. I thought it would be a big deal to turn 30, but other than the emotional part about turning 30 on Mothers Day the yr after my mom died, actually turning 30 wasn't a big deal. But now when I have to say 31... it just kills me. I so don't even feel like I left my teen yrs... I was watching some kids yesterday and the daughter asked me how old I was, I told her and she said my mom is 36... you look older than her. I almost cried! Why, is getting older such a big deal to me?

I have a new addiciton besides steak buritos from Chipotle. I'm a cherry + vanilla coke addict or a cherry + lime + vanilla sprite addict (depending on the time of day).... these drinks must be purchased from Sonic and must have only a little ice (i'm addicted to the DRINK not the temp of the beverage!) I think I've had one everyday this week and at a $1.82 a pop that's not exactly cheap.

Speaking of this week, I LOVE not working!!!!!

Ok, well, if I really want to get this blog spiffed up tonight, I'd better do some housework now so I'm not stuck doing it later!

Holy cow! Look what I did, by all myself!!!!

I'm so super proud of myself!!!! I actually changed something in my blog and it worked and DH isn't even here!!!!!!!!!!!
I changed the google news and 'edit me' stuff to sites that I frequent. I figured I'd better work more on my blog now that it is getting more traffic from SJ. I can't wait for DH to get home so that he can do the header thing for me and change some fonts and what not. I can only do so much!!! lol
Well, I really had no intention of posting right now... just wanted to brag on myself a bit.
