Crunch

I know, I know. It has been way too long since I last made a blog post; we've had a lot going on in this house. As you know, we had the world's 3rd most perfect baby (the first being Jesus, than The Girl, and now The Boy!); life is challenging going from one kid to two... but we are adjusting. Two weeks (and 2 days) after The Boy was born, The Man was in a front end collision... in MY CAR!!! Ultimately, he is fine. Ya know, banged up, bruised, and sore... but fine. We are partially thankful that he was in my car b/c had he been in his little to and from work car, he may not have been so lucky. He did get carted away in an ambulance though and let me tell you, that is one phone call you never want to get... but really you don't want to get it when you are still super emotional and hormonal from being a baby maker. When C called all I could hear were the emergency sirens in the background and then just as I said 'hello' I heard a man's voice ask if there was anyone else in the car with him (at this point I held my breath b/c I NEEDED to know if The Girl was with him or if he had gotten to drop her off at the sitter's house) C answered, 'no, its just me'. [BREATHE!] He then gets to talk to me on the phone and tell me that he's been in an accident, I asked if he was ok, and he answered 'my neck, my neck, my shoulder, and my legs' he was REALLY shaken up and I could totally hear it in his voice; I did manage to ask him if there was any blood and he said no. Then he said he'd call me back. As soon as I hung up the phone I burst into tears. A few minutes later he called again but we didn't get to talk at all. The third time the phone rang it was a paramedic telling me which hospital they were taking him to and how to get there. The guy said he was ok, but they were taking him to get checked out. I relaxed a little bit at this point but was still way freaked out. The Boy and I got to the hospital and found C, he didn't sound as shaken up anymore but he was clearly in pain. After about an hour of waiting for xrays and ct scan results we finally got released with muscle relaxers and pain meds. We needed to get to my car to get The Girl's car seat and the base to The Boy's car seat. On the way there I said to C, why does your car sound like it is falling apart? At this point he says OH NO! I forgot! I noticed that the rear passenger tire on my car was low... but since I've been driving you car I haven't done anything about it yet. So at the next light he poked his head out the window and sure enough we were riding on the rim. LOVELY! Here I am 2 weeks out of surgery and poor C was just in a car crash! :insert LONG story here: but we managed to get/have the spare put on and then we headed to the lot where they towed my car so that we could get the car seats and some other things out. At this point this was the first time that either of us have seen the car.... :( I seriously could have cried. Turns out the ins co wrote my car off as a total loss and we found ourselves having to go looking for a new family vehicle..... to be continued!

Sorry the pictures are small... I was too lazy to get the originals; I lifted these off of my facebook page. :)
