Memorial Day 2007

First... thank you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in helping to get and then maintain the freedoms that I so very much enjoy and too often take for granted! I promise to never forget that freedom isn't free.
While I myself, never officially joined the armed forces, I did go through a few years of ROTC training and then married an Air Force guy. While I may have complained about it sometimes, sometimes I actually miss being 'military'. 'Course the pay and medical care we get now is WAY better... but that's a whole other thing!
Again, to those and their families I say THANK YOU!!!

Plus we get a 3 day weekend, and while I miss the traditional Memorial Day bbq/picnic... we are working on cleaning out some 'fluff' from our home to make room for baby! But first I've gotta get C outta bed, it's 11.06AM!!!!!

~till next time, folks!

Do you see what it says up there?????
Only 99 days to go! YIKES YIKES YIKES!!!
I remember counting down for my wedding from 100 days. It really went by fast. 'Course I was working and very busy making plans and whatever... but still!!! Less than 99 days!!!!

Wordless wednesday??? nah!

So we had another great weekend w/ the fam! We also acquired a diaper changing table. It's sitting in my living room right now, b/c well, we still need to work in the room that will become the baby's room. Everytime I see it, it freaks me out. Totally makes it more real, I know the kicking and poking I feel inside should be pretty real, but seeing the furniture in the house, makes it seem not so far off that our lives is going to under go a dramatic change. My aunt made a roman shade for the window in the 'nursery'. We got that hung up over the weekend as well. My aunt also made this way cool quilt for the baby. I totally love it and hope that this is one of those 'blankies' that the kiddo will not be able to separate from. Like Linus from The Peanuts. Can I tell ya that my Aunt is like the most talented person I know!
*** Totally love having you in my life Aunt D!!!! You are the best!!! ***

If anyone was wondering, C did an INCREDIBLE job on Sunday night. I was blown away. He amazes me everytime I hear him speak from the pulpit. After the service, they had a reception for all the graduates in the fellowship hall, and our Pastor came up to me and said something about how great he did, so I jokingly said that I had written out every word for him. Pastor says to me, so can you do some writing for me? I said, well, I don't know, it's gonna have to cost you. He says, hey for quality like that I'm willing to pay! I just thought that was sooo nice of him to say. Then when we got home there was a voicemail message on C's cell (he had left it at home) from the Pastor just saying again what a great job he did and all that nice stuff. :D :D :D But if you see C sometime soon, ya just gotta ask him... 'boxers or briefs' :D (sorry, C just HAD to put it out there!)

Monday I had a wonderful day enjoying some retail therapy with a fantastic friend that I don't get to hang out with all that much.... I totally needed that day. I got a pair of crocs, not the ones I REALLY wanted though, b/c they didn't have them. I got the 'original' kind, (and yes, I'm still trying to get used to the ugliness of them) in navy blue (of course). I'm still on the hunt for the croc flip flops in black w/ a brown/tan middle. I may just have to order them online.
Then in the afternoon I had to go to the dr to learn how to give myself a shot in the abdomen everyday... I did it for the first time today. I chickened out yesterday. It wasn't as horrible as my head was making it, but I'm really not looking forward to doing this everyday. But at least there is an end in sight.

Yesterday, C was home so we were able to do a bunch of errands and whatnot type stuff. I had a diabetes consult... I'm doing great. :D
Today, is laundry and clean up... plus I'm hoping to get some paint on the walls in the living room, but we'll see.

ok, now for pics:
Here is the changing table, sorry it's wrapped in plastic, we bought the last one they had.

and here is the baby's quilt, it has sheep on it which is cool, kinda like a little 'sumfin' of my mom for the 'lil bean!

And finally, the roman shade. It's just way too cool and I don't think pics do it justice.

*none of these pics have been edited b/c I'm just too lazy! so suffer! :D

~till next time folks!

24 weeks

I actually don't like this picture... but there have been requests for belly shots... so here ya go!

C's work had a "Spring Fling" on Saturday night, it was 'cocktail' attire... this is the closest thing I have to cocktail attire... even not pregnant!
It was a fun evening! When we first go there they gave us an envelope that had a voucher for a photo that was also printed right there, 2 door prize coupons, 4 drink coupons, and 2 casino vouchers for $2000 in chips. We also were given 2 champagne flutes that were hand painted and a 5x7 picture frame that that nights photo would go in. Our pic came out ok, I was disappointed in the photographer, he didn't do any kind of directing whatsoever. There was also a magician wandering around... he was a bit creepy though. The food was YUMMY and dessert.... chocoloate mousse... heavenly and only my absolute favorite!!!! Then they opened the casino tables, they had black jack, texas hold 'em, roulette, and craps. I only know most of the rules to black jack, so as soon as a spot opened up, I sat my tuckas in a seat and never got up. The fun part about this is... no one is allowed to bet real money, so the dealer is just in it for fun, as are the people at the table. We had the best dealer ever! She was SO. MUCH. FUN!!!! She would give me a card then look at the next one and say nope, can't give this card to a new mommy... let's see what I can find, and she'd go through the cards til she found one that would work so I wouldn't 'bust'. Some of the other players she would give a hard time to and make them dance for a good card (there was a live band playing) or people would just switch up cards w/ each other til everybody would win. The goal is to play to win 10,000 in chips to earn a ticket for some prizes. You are only allowed 10 tickets. This one guy decided he didn't want to play anymore and he had already won his 100,000 in chips so he gave me his 'leftovers'... about 4000 in chips. At last hand I had about 32,000 in chips, the dealer was giving out the new tickets and she handed me 12!!! C got 12 tickets too! Now the cool part is the prizes, the had an ipod nano, an xbox 360, a digital photo frame, a portable dvd player, a 20" wide screen lcd monitor, a home photo studio (photo printer), and something else that was big but I can't remember what it was.... the other door prizes were much smaller... they were still nice though.
Well, I WON something!!! WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO! I won the 20" monitor! YAY me! The best part is this, we don't need it, and the box had the store tag on it so we are going to return it to get stuff that we really want. Like the car adaptor for my ipod and some other things too b/c according to the store's website this baby is worth $289.99!!!! We decided though that if they give us real money and not store money, we will buy something for the baby's room or maybe the car seat. Gotta start thinking like a parent! :D
