She really was sleeping under there. Apparently she just wasn't ready to wake up yet that morning. :)


This is what C and I brought home for her when we finally came home from the hospital with The Boy when he was sick. She was super excited!

Ok, this is almost a month old already but has been sitting in the draft while forever and I figured old is better than nothing.


I'm supposed to be updating this thing. It has been requested by a few certain aunts that I say something like once a week or at least throw up a picture of the kiddos. I'm gonna try that, really I am.
The Girl has really been amazing regarding the addition of The Boy and the fact that she no longer is the absolute center of our attention every single moment of every single day. Sure, she is 2 and a half and can throw an attitude with the best of them; but so far (and I'm knocking on wood here) we haven't had any meltdown temper tantrums. I'm pretty sure she knows that if she pulls that little stunt that her super crazy mother will just throw herself on the floor and throw an even bigger tantrum! (Trust me, I will!!!) Whenever she and I are going head to head, I keep reminding her that I have 30 (plus) years of experience with a bad attitude and she WILL NOT WIN THIS FIGHT! Right now the things that keep her well entertained are bubbles, books, her trike, and anything involving The Little Einsteins.
The Boy had his 12 week checkup on Wednesday and I must say, I am not accustomed to having an 'average' child! He weighed in at 12lbs and 1 ounce and was 23 3/4" long. That puts him right smack dab in the 50% mark on the growth chart. The Girl has never been out of the 90% mark! He is making more baby noises, the happy and not so happy ones, and he is getting really good with holding his head up too and well the smiles, he's happy to show them off!! :)

We are home now. The Boy is doing a whole lot better and The Girl seems to be getting there. I'll get more up here when I can.

We are SICK!!!
I'm adding this from an email I sent b/c I'm tired of typing and saying it all again.
Thursday we took Garrett to the dr b/c he was coughing really badly and had started to run a fever, she sent us immediately to children's hospital to have them check for RSV. At the hospital, his fever was 102 and they said he had an infection in both ears; they took his urine and some blood and did the rsv test and a flu test, both came back negative, but the urine and blood each had a small abnormalities about them. This concerned them enough to do a spinal tap to check for meningitis this also came back clear but during the 'tap' some blood did get into the fluid and so the reading wasn't 'perfect' so we needed to wait for the cultures (this can take 2-3 days) of the fluid to get an absolute reading. It is decided he has some sort of viral infection (no shock really since Calvin was diagnosed on Tuesday with bronchitis) so we were admitted for 'observation and iv antibiotics' for the night. Friday they were 'pretty certain' that he did not have meningitis and his fever was down to 99. We finally have a name for what he has; bronchiolitis, basically a more serious version of bronchitis b/c it is lower in the bronchial tubes which makes it harder to get rid of and of course b/c Garrett is only 6 weeks old and is considered a 'preterm' baby SUPER serious. They wanted to do a chest xray to see if he also might have pneumonia. We stayed in the hospital overnight again Friday and received more iv antibiotics. Saturday we got the results of the xray, he does have pneumonia so.... we stayed another night for another round of meds. Saturday the doc told us she expected to release us around 10a or 11a. HOWEVER, now she has decided that she is concerned that he is only eating 2ozs of formula every 3-4 hours when before he was sick he would have 4-5oz every 4-5 hours. As of now, we are trying to get him to take a few more ounces of formula to see how he does and she is going to check back with us around 1pm today. At some point during our stay (it's all a little fuzzy) Garrett wasn't keeping formula down and was on iv fluids and pedialyte, then got switched to a mix of formula and pedialyte, and as of Saturday am began to keep down straight formula but only 2oz at a time... so insert that info somewhere into the timeline! :)

I'm adding that The Girl is also yucky right now with ear infection and sinus infection. She is so congested that she has green goop coming out of her eyes! EW!!! So we've been trying to have a parent at each location but sometimes we have had to get someone to keep or stay with her for us. My heart is just torn in two right now!!!
